Dan A. Baggett O.D.
Dr. Baggett began his higher education in Engineering, eventually graduating in Business Administration at the University of Florida. After working in various hospitals, he embarked on his medical career, graduating from the School of Optometry at UC Berkeley. He has been an Assistant Clinical Professor at UC Berkeley, School of Optometry, and an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, teaching in both departments of Ophthalmology and Optometry, as well as seeing faculty patients. He also administered the contact lens clinic at CPMC, and conducted research on advanced contact lens modalities at UC Berkeley, publishing several research papers.

Serving as an Army Lieutenant Colonel in the Active and Reserve forces, he was a company commander, plans & operations officer, and a logistics officer, as well as an Optometry Officer, serving at various Army and Navy installations.
Later Dr. Baggett became a special consultant to the Department of the Navy Pacific Fleet Carrier operations at Alameda NAS, conducting Ophthalmic inservice training aboard the nuclear aircraft carriers, USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Carl Vinson. He also served during Operation Desert Storm at Ft. Carson, Colorado, as the assistant director, Optometry Clinic at Evans Army Community Hospital.
Dr. Baggett is an avid Baseball fan, and was the Team Optometrist for the San Francisco Giants during their last year at Candlestick Park. He is also an avid Airplane Pilot and owner, flying a Beechcraft Bonanza out of Palo Alto Airport. He is an auto enthusiast (a true "Petrol-head"), and is a Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, and BMW fan.

Shawna Lovering O.D.
Dr. Lovering received her undergraduate Combined Sciences degree from Santa Clara University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She earned a post-graduate degree in Vision Science and an Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Lovering is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and has completed externships in ocular pathology and low vision at the VA Medical Centers in San Francisco and Palo Alto. While completing an externship at the Beckman Cornea Research center at U.C.S.F, she excelled in specialty contact lens fittings for patients with high astigmatism, post-surgical cases, dry eye, infant/toddler aphakia, and presbyopia.

Dr. Lovering is a former competitive gymnast and has traveled extensively throughout the U.S. to compete at State and Regional competitions. She enjoys experimenting with gourmet cooking, traveling, photography, and scrapbooking.
Dr. Lovering married her junior-high sweetheart and has three sons.
